DESCRIPTION:Greetings! \nWe invite you and the community stakeholders you know to our “COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS HOLIDAY BREAKFAST – Honoring Those Who Serve\, Sacrifice & Help the Southland Soar!” Our focus is on the Chicago Heights\, Park Forest\, Sauk Village\, and Richton Park municipalities. However\, others from the surrounding communities are welcome to attend as long as seats are available. \nNow\, here is a little bit about who we are as your hosts: Empowered People Church and the Empowerment Center is a ministry and outreach of Kingdom Church International\, a 501(c)(3) organization. Among many of our outreach services and roles that we play within the community\, under the guidance of the Office of Firearm Violence Prevention (OFVP) and the Illinois Department of Human Services\, we have been assigned as the Violence Prevention Council Coordinator (VPCC) for this area. Our mandate is to coordinate violence prevention efforts across various agencies and with community stakeholders in what OFVP’s Research Group has labeled as the Chicago Heights Cluster which comprises Chicago Heights\, Park Forest\, and Sauk Village. This is because\, unfortunately\, these three adjacent communities have been identified as having the greatest volume and per capita rate of fatal/non-fatal firearm-shot victims in their municipalities. Therefore\, in efforts to collaborate with\, inform\, and aid our community stakeholders and servants\, we are hosting this holiday breakfast.
